Before the holidays hit, how do you plan on making your place Fall festive? One way is our upcoming Fall Watercolors class with Lauren Dahl from the Dahl House on Thursday, October 19th. Her watercolor classes have always been very popular and a lot of fun too! But we've got a few more ideas for celebrating Autumn to the fullest.
Fall-Themed Hair Crowns
This summer, our friends at Mahonia held a summer flower crown making class. There's no reason you can't bring the beauty and whimsy of flower crowns into the fall. Visit Mahonia in NuLu – right below Story Louisville's new digs – for ideas and Fall flowers and plants to weave into your hair.
Not up for making your own? Visit Gardens of Whimsy on Etsy.
Fall Wreath Making
Wreaths aren't just for Christmas. Let no door go bare this Fall! Tuesday, October 24th Tiffany Collins Floral is leading a Fall wreath making class for Level Up Louisville. This is perfect if you've never made a wreath before or are wreath-making pro, but you'd rather make your crafting mess somewhere else :).
Hot Apple Cider Recipe Contest
What to do with all those apples you and bae picked? Hot apple cider contest! Invite all of your friends over and tell them to bring their apple cider game (If you want to win, I'd ask PLS&TY for their recipe – It's the best!). This is simply an excuse to gather with friends and family to enjoy the Fall weather. You could just as easily swap out apple cider with pumpkin pie, if you and the little ones got carried away at the pumpkin patch.

Bonfires & Fire Pits
If you invite the crew over for a hot apple cider competition, you should definitely get a nice outdoor fire going. I've already heard a few stories of folks taking advantage of the cooler weather to host bonfire parties. If you don't have the land or the space for a full on bonfire, a fire pit is a good alternative.
