Minimalistic entrepreneur says style is 'outward expression of self'

Name: Natalia Bishop

Age: 33

Hometown:  Barranquilla, Colombia

Education: B.S in Business Management & Marketing from University of Louisville

Career: Entrepreneur

Describe your style in three words: Effortless, minimalistic, classic.

Style icons: My grandmother. She always had the most amazing silver hair and wouldn’t leave the house without looking effortlessly put together.

Signature accessories: Solitaire diamond earrings and the perfect lipstick that makes you feel unstoppable. I don’t go anywhere without my Clayton and Crume Leather tote and Ray-Ban aviators - they look fabulous and protect my eyes and skin from the sun.

What are you buying this season to update your look: Breezy jumpsuits, denim wedges, self-tanner (gotta protect the skin).

More: So, what's the deal with Louisville wine dinners?

More: Not your mother's hula hoop. How the 'flow' of hooping has changed

Favorite summer trend: I’m in love with the bold colors this summer! Loving the trend of patchwork, neck scarves (gives me major vintage feels) and one piece swimsuits.

Favorite places to shop: Madewell, Collections, Colokial in New Albany, Indiana and ASOS.

Favorite style tip: I have two tips: No. 1: Embrace your shape. Once you know what silhouettes best fit your body, you can filter trends and pick flattering outfits more efficiently. I’ve learned over the years that just because something is on trend does not mean it will look good on you. No. 2: Show skin strategically. Nothing is sexier than leaving it up to the imagination!

Item you’ll never part with: My Quimbaya Replica Gold bracelet my grandmother gave me.

Go-to outfit: For the every day, a simple T-shirt and a pair of sandals do the tricks for me. I also love denim jeans or shorts and wedges or white sneakers (depends on how long my work day is).

More: Pop culture exhibit takes on sports, politics and entertainment at 21c Museum

Must-have beauty products in your makeup bag: Dollface brow kit and highlighter, Lifeproof reviving spray, Dahlia by Givenchy.

How often you shop for new clothes: Once or twice a season.

Favorite colors this season: Denim, primrose yellow, red based orange, teal.

Time it takes you to get dressed: Five minutes. I have a minimalistic closet so it’s very easy to pick items out in the morning.

What are the building blocks of your style: My Madewell jeans. They are a perfect piece that never goes out of style and they are so versatile. Neutral pieces for my tops, gold hardware jewelry.

What's your style philosophy or motto: Style is an outward expression of self. The more you know yourself and the less you worry about other people’s conception of you, the clearer your style will become.

What's the biggest fashion or beauty risk you've ever taken: Pixie cut when I was 15. Let’s just say I won’t be doing that again!

Every woman should wear a (fill-in-the-blank) at least once in her life:  A pair of heels and eyelash extensions.

What's the biggest fashion faux pas a person can commit: Wearing clothes that are too tight and visible bra straps.
