Legal Tips for Startups & Small Businesses
ABOUT THE TEACHER:
Hi everyone, my name is Carly Hertel! I’m a recent graduate of NKU’s Chase College of Law and passed the Kentucky Bar Exam in October :) I worked at a medium-sized law firm for roughly a year and a half and am currently working in-house at a company. In law school, I took Business Organizations and fell in love with the idea of helping innovators, small business owners, and those looking to form startups. The law and the terms we find buried in so many contracts can be daunting, but the law really can provide so many ideas, growth, and protection! I’m looking forward to giving you some tips and answering any questions you may have :)
Let’s make your ideas come to life while protecting you and your goals!
ABOUT THE CLASS:
We are seeing a wave of innovation due to the challenges of today. Where innovation is born, we also need to be aware of how we protect ourselves when moving forward in business. Whether it's a side hustle or you've started your business but you are looking at taking the next big steps - this class is for you.
Regardless of where you are, I’m here to talk through the most common business entity options and how to form one. Additionally, we will cover key issues with contracts, when to use them, and what to watch out for!
By the end of the class:
- you will have an understanding of the various options for business entities
- be able to consider the legal considerations based on the chosen structure
- be able to utilize my guideposts for contracts
Lastly, I will have an open Q&A time and will answer to the best of my ability.
See you there!
