ABOUT THE CLASS:
Alcohol use among women has increased significantly over the past several years. Women turn to alcohol to relieve stress, cope with parenting, and have a good time. But is the promise of alcohol all that it says it is? Samantha Perkins discovered that it was not.
In this class, you will learn about the history of alcohol marketing and how personal beliefs about alcohol are formed. We will discuss the role that alcohol plays in wellness and how it affects your body if you have just one drink. We will have in an depth discussion about how alcohol impacts mental health and stress. We will interpret "mommy wine" culture and the role it plays in today's motherhood. We will discuss the benefits of an Alcohol Free lifestyle.
*Note-this is not a class on how to get sober or a treatment group of any kind. The class is strictly informative for those seeking information about how alcohol is viewed and perpetuated in our culture. You do not need to be alcohol free to attend.
STUDENTS WILL TAKE HOME:
During our discussion we will concoct a mocktail recipe to sip while we talk.
AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT CLASS:
Learners will have a new mocktail recipe that they can make at home.
