Key elements of storytelling and how to use them
The uses and abuses of personal memoir
Places to tell and share your story, including spoken word events

Class Materials: Bring something to take notes and write with, whether that's a notebook and pen or your laptop.
Participants will come away from this class with drafts for at least two flash memoir pieces which can be used on their own or incorporated into longer pieces of writing, whether a full-length memoir, college application, cover letter for a job or other personal essay. There will also be a handout with resources for additional information and inspiration.
