ABOUT ME:

Katrina Leggins is a licensed clinical social worker, self-care educator, and speaker. Katrina is also the founder and creator of K. Nicole Writing and CEO of the K. Nicole Writing Collection, an apparel line focused on raising awareness for self-care and mental health. K. Nicole Writing is an informational and inspirational platform that helps motivate individuals through mental health education, empowerment, and inspiration. Individuals are provided with tools and resources needed to navigate through life to help accomplish their goals and inspired through positive written expression. K. Nicole Writing offers group workshops focused on the importance of self-care and mental health for children, teens, and adults in various settings.

Since adolescence, she has been passionate about helping individuals who struggle to find their purpose and enjoy playing an active role in their journey. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Katrina knew her God-given purpose was to help people at an early age. Katrina received her Bachelor's in Social Work and Masters in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. She is extremely dedicated to serving others, believing that everyone has the opportunity to change when introduced to the proper tools and access to a healthy support system. Growing up, Katrina experienced her own personal trauma and emotional struggles with low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. With the help of Katrina's Godly faith and spiritual path, personal writing, and tapping into her support system, she learned how valuable her life is and was able to take back control. Writing has always been a positive outlet for her since grade school. As she grew older, she began to journal and was given the vision to share the words from those pages through her platform, realizing that others could not only identify with her but could use her words to heal.

Katrina has worked in the mental health field for the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services in various roles at the Central Oklahoma Community Mental Health Center, Children & Family Services division for seven years to present. She has demonstrated a high level of skill and commitment to working with children, teens, and young adults from various backgrounds, whether in a more formal clinical setting or working more directly in the community and school-based services.
